For the first time in my life, I was hospitalized. Definitely, it’s not something to brag about, but why do I write about it on my blog? Well, being confined at Mother Theresa of Calcutta in San Fernando, Pampanga for 3.5 days had made me realized lot of things.
First of, I’m overwhelmed by the love and care (physically, emotionally and financially) of those people around me. I know I’ll be forever grateful and someday, I’ll be able to return the kindness.
I was rushed to hospital because I cannot bear the pain anymore I was feeling in my tummy. I had mussels for dinner, which is the primary suspect why I had Acute Gastroentiritis (due to frequent vomiting and diarrhea) - eeww, excuse me for those words, lol!
So there I was, stranded in a room for three and a half days-which had me sleepless for being uncomfortable. Not that the bed is bad, in fact, I can say that the Mother Theresa of Calcutta has the best medical service and facility. I just can’t sleep with a dextrose clipped in my left hand, eventually transferred to my right when it became swollen. I was irritated because I can’t do anything but to watch tv and dvd all day long! My butt and back ached for being too attached on bed or chair. Worst, I couldn’t digest anything I eat, it was all coming out.

The Boys Over Flowers fever is now infecting me (*wink*). This Korean adaptation of Taiwanese Meteor Garden is gaining popularity in Philippines since its airing last May 11, 2009.
THE CAST:
Lee Min-ho as Gu Jun Pyo, the leader of F4 or also known as Dao Ming Si in Meteor Garden. Lee Min-ho instantly became a heartthrob after being chosen to play the lead role. He looks like Jerry Yan, the Dao Ming Si of Meteor Garden. I guess his resemblance to Jerry Yan is the major factor in getting the role of Gu Jun Pyo . But there are rumors that Lee Min-ho had a plastic surgery to have exactly the features of Jerry Yan.
Koo Hye Sun as Geum Jan Di or most popularly known as Shan Cai in Meteor Garden. This pretty petite actress is very talented, she’s into singing and writing novels.
Kim Hyun Joong as Yoon Ji Hoo, Jun Pyo’s bestfriend and greatest rival with Jan Di. Aside from being an actor, Kim Hyun Joong was first known as the leader of the boyband SS501.
But it is Kim Bum whom I find the cutest among the four. He played the role of Xi Men who eventually fell in love with Jan Di’s bestfriend.
Kim Joon is the English-speaking guy here, in Boys Over Flowers he is the son of the leader of Mafia. In real life, he is a rapper.

Kris Allen won American Idol Season 8, as not expected. It was Adam Lambert who was favored by the judges early on. Well, I’m glad the “underdog” won. But in fairness, I admire Lambert’s powerful voice. Actually, it was him I noticed first and thought would win the season, however, I was disappointed by his weird personality. Then I saw Kris Allen performed, I was fascinated by his simplicity (I like it when he wears plain v-neck shirt and jeans), his adorable smile and boyish charm made me one of his fans.
But wait girls, Kris Allen is already married! Kris Allen’s wife whose name is Katy Allen, is visible as an audience in almost all of his performances. The beautiful blonde is Kris’ long time girlfriend from highschool. They got married just last year, on the month of September. Hope they will not be affected by nasty rumors that would come their way as Kris Allen is staring a new journey ahead. Goodluck! :)

The Hayden Kho-Katrina Halili video scandal is the talk of the town these days. I have seen the video of the sex scandal involving Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili; and Hayden Kho and a commercial model named Maricar Reyes. This commercial model can be seen on the tvc of KFC, remember the line: “it’s not you, it’s me” - that’s her. She also plays a cameo role in I Love Betty La Fea as John Lloyd Cruz’ ex-girlfriend. There is another video featuring also the sexcapades of Hayden with a Brazilian model, but I haven’t seen this one.
There is also a rumor that Ruffa Mae Quinto is also one of Hayden’s victims. After seeing those videos, Senator Bong Revilla is right in calling Hayden a pervert. Poor girls, after making fun of them, now he would destroy their lives and that of their families. Look at Katrina Halili, she kept on apologizing for having an affair with Hayden while he’s committed with Dra. Vicky Belo. Now, what will happen to her career?
In case of Maricar, she is just starting a career in showbizness, she’s a new member of the Star Magic family of ABS-CBN, but her career landed already in the finish line shortly after it begun. I heard, she’s also a dentist. I bet she has a reputable family. This will be the biggest embarrassment in her life.

Angels and Demons is a bestselling mystery-thriller novel written by Dan Brown, the author of The Da Vinci Code. I’m lucky to have watched its movie adaptation, Laus Group gave away free tickets on its premiere night last friday in SM Pampanga. (Thanks to Sir Charles for the tickets!).
Angels and Demons is the sequel for The Da Vinci Code, Tom Hanks reprises the role of Robert Langdon-a Harvard University symbologist. The film shows the mystery behind the secret society called Illuminati and its mortal enemy- the Roman Catholic Church. It depicts the murder of cardinals inside the Vatican Church, the betrayal of a Papal Chamberlain, and other controversies involving the Roman Catholic Church which subsequently earned many criticisms mostly from the Catholic community.
After watching the film, it does not, in any way, affect my belief in my religion. I think it should not be banned from showing to other cinemas just because it will arise conflict or confusion to the audience.

Will Angel Locsin, Sam Milby and Diether Ocampo live up the role of Jillian, Jonathan and Tj of the hit Koreanovela: Only You? This will take place the slot of Betty La Fea, on which it will have its final conclusion this week.
On the original Only You Koreanovela, Jillian is played by the pretty Han Chae Young, who also starred in Sassy Girl and has a cameo role in My Girl (as the long lost cousin of Lee Dong Wook). I don’t see any resemblance of Han Chae Young and Angel Locsin, however I believe Angel is just fit for the role. Afar from the heavy dramas and fantaseryes she has done before, her versatility will be seen in this light comedy-drama adaptation.

I was convinced that Adam Lambert would be the next American Idol when I watched him performed “Satisfaction”. I’m quite amazed by his vocals, and obviously he has the personality. But there’s something in him I thought quite bothering, but I can’t tell what. Until I saw his pictures dressed and fully made up- as a girl!
In an interview, when asked about these pictures, Adam answered something like: “Ï am what I am.” Tsk tsk. Is he really gay? In that case Paula Abdul will lose another target and swooning girls will not waste time with him anymore. Will his identity would drop him off the list?

Maleldo or Mal a Aldo is a Kapampangan word for Holy Week or Mahal na Araw. The old practices and tradition of Christ’s passion and death is a common trait for all Filipinos. During the Holy Week, we practice fasting and abstinence; attending mass and processions; while others offer sacrifices by re-enacting Christ’s crucifixion on the cross. Every Good Friday, local and foreign tourists flocked their way to Cutud and Sta. Lucia in San Fernando, Pampanga to witness the re-enactment of Christ’s suffering on the Cross.
I have posted here some pictures and videos which were taken by my my pals, since I wasn’t able to witness them myself because I have chosen to reflect in solitude. Nah, that is just an excuse hehe. The truth is, I was only able to go to 7 different Churches or what we call, Bisita Iglesia, including the Bacolor Church where it is now famous as Santino’s place in the teleserye May Bukas Pa. And because of that, many went to that place, some were praying while others came just to take a peek at the location of the hit teleserye.

Actor-rapper Francis “Kiko” Magalona died today at 12:00 noon as announced on GMA 7’s Eat Bulaga where he is one of the main stay. Magalona was diagnosed with leukemia last year and he underwent several chemotherapy.
The Master Rapper will be surely missed as he is considered an icon in the music and entertainment industry. Aside from being a singer/rapper and actor, he is also a producer, director and photographer.
Francis M. was born on October 4, 1964. He is 44 years old. Farewell “Man from Manila“.

Half-brother of Black Eyed Peas’ Allan Pineda or more popularly known as Apl de Ap was shot dead in Angeles City, Pampanga, Tuesday midnight. Joven Pineda Deala, was aboard his Toyota Fortuner when a man shot him point blank and left on foot together with an unidentified man also. It was reported that Joven was with his girlfriend, Elaine Torres when the incident happened.
Police are looking into the possible love triangle angle as the reason behind the killing as it was mentioned that his girlfriend has an ex-husband. But Torres clarified that she’s in good terms with her ex-husband.
Apl de Ap will go back to the Philippines on Wednesday. He lost another brother as one of his brother, Arnel, committed suicide years ago.

Happy New Year to all! =)
Before the year 2008 ended, I was able to watch two movies included in the annual Metro Manila Film Festival or MMFF. Together with my family, we watched Iskul Bukol The Reunion top billed by the famous trio- Tito, Vic, and Joey. As usual, it was hilariously funny especially the scenes with Ryan Agoncillo who played a Cambodian mute.
I wanted to watch Tanging Ina N’yong Lahat as my sister said she was laughing all the time when she watched the said movie. However, I ended up watching Baler on which my boyfriend really liked to see. I’m not complaining though, ’cause the screening time for the Ai-Ai de las Alas starrer would start later than Baler and I was in a hurry at that time. It was good after all, it is a historical film and the actors and actresses are great. Though I’m still wondering why Anne Curtis bagged the Best Actress award.
Anyway, I’m yet to watch some entries. Still, Tanging Ina is on my list and perhaps, Desperadas 2 because of Ogie Alcasid.

Another Filipino makes a name! Mc Zani is the 2008 UK Beatbox Champion. He is awesome! I can’t believe it’s all just coming from his mouth, the sound produced by his mouth-together with his tounge, lips and throat seems like fake-but of course, it isn’t. That’s pure talent.

Actor Marky Cielo died this morning due to acute hemorrhagic pancreatic or “bangungot”. The Kapuso artist became popular after he became the Startruck Ultimate Survivor Batch 3. Reports has it that Marky Cielo allegedly died while sleeping inside their home in Antipolo and when his mother tried to wake him up, the young actor didn’t respond. He was rushed to the nearest hospital but declared dead on arrival. It wasn’t confirmed though if that reason is true as his family wants privacy as of the moment. Apparently, Cielo family is still in shock.
Marky Cielo is only 20 years old. He is a great loss not only to the entertainment industry but also for the youth who idolize him. He is a good example for the youth as he possess genuine “makabayan” , a proud Igorot, humble and kind. I see him as a nice person with full of talents. His family asks us for prayer and I certainly will.

On what would be an inevitable boxing match, on December 6, 2008 - Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao agreed to a fight on a catchweight of 147 lbs. that will be held at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Some says that the Golden Boy is just coward in facing Margarito so he picked Pacman instead. Why not give the man a benefit of the doubt? Sure he lost his title to Floyd Mayweather II, but he was praised for being the first man to beat Mayweather on on any official scorecard.
On the other hand, Manny Pacquiao or Pacman is currently the WBC Lightweight Champion and the WBC Super Featherweight Champion. He is also the world champion at IBF Super Bantamweight and WBC Flyweight divisions. Furthermore, Pacman is the first Asian and Filipino boxer to win four world titles in different weight divisions. But on his fight with the Golden Boy, will this be the downfall of his career? Pacman regarded this match as the toughest test of his boxing career.

On November 27, 2008, Charice Pempengco sung live at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. As usual, Charice is amazing as she sung Celine Dion’s Because You Love Me. She is regarded as “Internet Phenomenal Diva” from the Philippines. The said event is Charice numerous performance internationally.
She was first noticed in You Tube when someone posted a face-off video between her and Bianca Ryan, America’s Got Talent winner. She was then invited to perform to Star King, a talent show from South Korea on October 2007. But, it was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she was internationally acclaimed when she guested the show on December of 2007. On April this year, she guested on Paul O’Grady Show in London. After a month, she appeared in The Oprah Winfrey Show where she awed the audience and Oprah herself. Her outstanding performance paved way for her duet with none other than Celine Dion, in Madison Square Garden in New York City. She received standing ovation in all her performances.

Back in high school, I remember reading an excerpt of the book: The Anne Frank’s Diary. It is a story of a young girl’s life and his family inside a secret hideout to avoid being arrested by the Nazis during the German occupation to get rid of Jews in Germany.
It was only this time that I have read the book from cover to cover. I found the book from my Uncle’s collection. Anne Frank wrote on her diary about their lives inside the hideout (her father’s office building) for more than two years- on how they get food, living with other family, what they do everyday and how they manage to live away from an ordinary life.
