Pacquiao VS. Marquez: The Unfinished Business
March 17th, 2008Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao won the most anticipated rematch in the history of boxing, in a split decision. Both Judges scored 115-112 and 114-113 for Pacquiao while another judge had it 115-112 in favor of Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez.
But controversies regarding the fight is still going around and outside the boxing ring. Obviously, Marquez’ camp are not happy with the result as they expected that Marquez won the fight, that they requested for another rematch but Pacquiao’s promoter claimed that it was over and clearly, Pacquiao won the rematch. They would rather have a fight with David Diaz.
Who is David Diaz?
He is the current WBC lightweight champion. He defeated Mexican legend Erik Morales on August 4, 2007 by a unanimous decision to defend his title. (According to Wikipedia.org). He is currently on a three-year 8-bout unbeaten streak. Pacquiao-Diaz would be a good match to watch for.
I just noticed, Marquez was so furious when he was almost knocked down on the third round that he followed Pacquiao after the bell signaled the end of the round. He does not even showed sportsmanship as Pacquiao extended his hand to him at the end of the fight. Kudos to him, Pacquaio won! Congratulations, Pacman. Mabuhay ka! :)
