Last Easter Sunday, I’ve come to witness my hometown’s annual festivities – Sabuaga Festival!
Sabuaga Festival is an annual event in the town of Sto. Tomas Pampanga which is held every Easter Sunday in observance of the Holy Week. Sabuaga is a combined word for ‘Sabuag Sampaga’, a Kapampangan term which means to scatter flowers.
Sabuaga Festival is participated by the town’s 7 barangays:
Moras De La Paz
Santo Rosario (Pau)
Sapa (Santo Niño)
Each barangay showcases their industries or well known products such as pottery, poultry, fishery, automotive, caskets, agriculture and garments through their street dancing performances.
Sabuaga Festival, I think, started on 2009 and has since a tourism attraction in the town of Sto. Tomas Pampanga.
Here are some photos of Sabuaga Festival 2016. This year’s Sabuaga Festival grand winner is Barangay San Bartolome. :)
