Pinoy Fear Factor Vs. Survivor Philippines
September 29th, 2008Two new reality shows on two giant networks. Both will test the physical and mental capabilities of chosen Filipino contestants. Thousands of Filipinos flocked in during the audition. But who will gain the most number of viewership?
The Show
Pinoy Fear Factor is an upcoming reality show of ABS-CBN. A franchise of Endemol’s Fear Factor Extreme, the location was shot at Argentina, South America thus the show was also dubbed: Pinoy Fear Factor South America. Twelve contestants will be vying for the P2 million cash prize plus house and lot worth P2.5 million to the one who will endure the show’s challenges for more than 30 days. Every week, a contestant will be eliminated after doing three stunts. Pinoy Fear Factor is scheduled to air this September.
Survivor Philippines 
Survivor Philippines already premiered last September 15, 2008. It is the Philippine version of reality television series Survivor. The contestant who will last the longer will be hailed as the Sole Survivor and will take home P3 million in cash. Initially, the show announced 18 contestants, divided into two groups: Jarakay and Naak. Now, only 16 castaways remain as Chev and Emerson were voted off by their tribe. Aside from the challenges given by the production team, the castaways are also faced on how to survive the island without shelter and food.
The Hosts
Ryan Agoncillo
He was first noticed on the Sprite commercial but Agoncillo’s blast to stardom begun after pairing with Judy Ann Santos in the television soap opera Krystala and the box office hit movie Kasal Kasali Kasalo. During his stay at GMA Network, he became one of the original hosts of Mornings at GMA, Unang Hirit and Campus Video. When he moved to ABS-CBN, Agoncillo hosted several tv programs, including Talk TV, Breakfast, and Y-Speak. He also hosted ABC 5’s Philippine Idol together with Heart Evangelista. Now known as TV5, Agoncillo is also hosting Talentadong Pinoy. With this line of previoys and current hosting jobs, Ryan Agoncillo is truly deserving to host Pinoy Fear Factor.
Paolo Bediones
Paolo Bediones is also a former commercial model before he started hosting. He has hosted Binibing Pilipinas not only once. He has been a loyal Kapuso star, hosting GMA 7’s: Gameplan, Mornings at GMA, Extra Extra, Extra Challenge, The Digital LG Quiz, Texter’s V, The Great Globe Challenge, Text Game Show, S-Files, Pinoy Meets World, Tok! Tok! Tok! Isang Milyon Pasok!, Whammy Push Your Luck, and currently, Survivor Philippines. With those tv programs, Paolo Bediones has truly mastered the craft.

The identity of twelve contestants aren’t revealed yet, but here are the clues on the 6 men and 6 women who tried to surpass all the challenges and stunts to compete for the grand prize:

LJ Moreno - former actress/pre-school teacher

Janna Dominguez - flawless girl
Jose Sarasola - a chef
Savanah Lamsen - party bombshell
Elmer Felix - the promdi veterinarian
Manuel Chua Jr. - struggling businessman

sbi nun friend ko na bading non-stop nga daw eto c miss janna dominguez (a former wowwowee host) sa pageemote tungkol sa mga panggawa nila sa amerika..ngbigay pa daw ng clue who was the real winner..anu ba yan.. aga naman spoiler from an abs “talent” mismo..how can we watch the show if early on there s a buzz on who s the winner already..like survivor..haayy..corny.

Survivor philippines is just like another season of “extra challege” or Tok-Tok-Tok. Sana nman kumuha sila ng ibang host kasi parang walang pinagka-iba sa mga previous shows ni paolo who had the same format. then the challenges are so boring kasi di masyadong kagandahan ng set at props compared sa US edition. Nagmukha tuloy cheap ang Survivor edition nato. I think mas may ibubuga ang Fear factor

Noong una, I dont want to watch PFF. Di ko kasi trip ang mga napanood ko sa Amerika. However, nag-enjoy ako nang mapanood ko siya. Doon ko napatunayan kung gaano kagaling ang mga Pinoy. Unlike Survivor. Anong lesson ang matututunan mo? Na dahil game siya, pwede mo nang traidurin ang mga kaibigan mo? nasaan na ang values mo? What a shame! Ganyan pala ang gusto ninyong ipakita sa mga tao. Mas magaling kang manggago, mas mananalo ka. Oh, come on! Nasaan ang utak at values ninyo? Ganyan ba ang gusto ninyo? Unlike PFF, ang tapang, galing mo pa rin at diskarte ang totoong mangingibabaw.
Di talaga marunong gumawa ng reality show ang GMA. Iyong mga nagtatanggol sa kanila, walang idea kung ano ang quality show. Sabagay, anong magagawa natin kung hanggang diyan lang ang kaligayahan ng mga LOSERS na iyan? Pagpasensiyahan na ninyo at di nila kaya ang level ng shows sa ABS. Di kaya ng makikitid nilang utak at lousy nilang taste. You know? Kapamilya shows are so bright kaya di ma-take ng mga low life na katulad nila. Bakaness!!!
Pwede ba? Isinusuka nga ng mga Filipino abroad ang mga shows ng GMA. Mga flop kasi. Nakiakaawang mga nilalang.
At doon sa lait nang lait sa PFF, gawin mo muan ang stunts nila. Magpakain ka muna sa sawa at sasambahin ko ang GMA mo.

i would just like to inform khanzaki that the quality of a show is not measured by the rating.
masyado kang mababaw kung ‘yan ang basehan mo.
ang mga pinoy kasi, nakakalimutan na nila ang kalidad over loyalty.
pag loyal sila sa dos tingin nila lahat ng shows ng siyete panget.
at ganun din ang mga loyal sa siyete, inaalipusta rin ang mga show ng dos.
wherein if you will just analyze or critique…
magaganda naman talaga ang kalidad at istorya ng mga primetime shows sa dos…
ang gma naman sobra galing ng news and current affairs nila…
dapat maging mapanuri tayo…
tigilan na ang labanan ng network…
walang mangyayari sa’tin kung mananatili tayong mababaw…
