Remember that famous answer to the question given by a judge on The Binibining Pilipinas 2008 held last March of this year? Yes, that answer made Janina San Miguel an instant celebrity. San Miguel won the title of Binibining Pilipinas World 2008. And that led to a debate whether San Miguel deserves the title since she is not fluent with the English grammar.
The controversial beauty queen is now on the limelight again as it was reported that she resigned from her title. Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BCPI) has released this statement:
“Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) regrets to announce that Ms. Janina San Miguel has resigned as official representative to the 2008 Miss World beauty pageant.”
It was mentioned that one of the reasons is the untimely death of her grandfather. But critics of San Miguel feel that she wasn’t able to handle the pressure of winning the Miss World 2008 title.
1st Runner-Up Danielle Castaño will take over the title and will become our country’s official representative to the Miss World 2008 beauty pageant.
