It was only two years ago when I learned about Crocs. That time, Havaianas were selling like pancake. But actually, Crocs begun selling in 2002 and became a huge-seller. Like Havaianas, Crocs only has outlets in Metro Manila. Then, Havaianas reached Pampanga thru its outlet in Robinsons followed by Crocs in SM.Until you see almost everyone you meet wearing Havaianas and Crocs-unable to distinguish which is original. You see in market the well-copied famous flip flop brands and colorful foam clogs. Everyone’s trying to be “in the trend”.

With global recession and product’s imitation, I wonder how Crocs will cope up. People are cost cutting, in Philippines, they would prefer fake Crocs that cost around Php150.00 than buy the original pair for Php1,800 up. Outside the country, almost everyone who purchased Crocs before will not buy a new pair. Crocs might not release new shoes/flip flops with their million dollar debt they need to pay or else…
