kc-piolo.jpgABS-CBN’s Lovers in Paris Pinoy adaptation starring KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual is undeniably fuzzy. I’m not a fan of either of them, yet, they had me watching Lovers in Paris every night. Hmm, maybe they have what you called “on-screen chemistry”. Plus the scenes and story itself is captivating. Or maybe because I like romantic-comedy type of story.

I’ve noticed the big change in KC Concepcion’s acting. She has improved her craft. Unlike before, I found her overacting and thought she’s not fit for the role. Good job, KC!

As for Piolo Pascual, undoubtedly, he’s one of today’s finest actors. If only persistent rumor about his gender will suffice, I would believe the romantic link of him and KC.

Mainstays of SOP, La Diva, composed of Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos and Maricris Garcia were chosen to sing the Philippine National Anthem at the Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto fight on November 14, 2009. These La Diva members all came from GMA 7’s singing contest.

Many raised eyebrows, perhaps skeptic about their voice, personality and popularity. Some even doubt Pacquiao for choosing them, speculating GMA 7 is behind it. Personally, La Diva members has good singing voice and I guess, Manny Pacquiao wouldn’t want to be dictated on whom he will choose to sing on his fight.

Well, the pressure lies on the three girls. They should prove that they deserved to be chosen. Not only by showing off their vocal powers but most importantly, by singing the National Anthem accordingly.

Starstruck V the Strikeback premiered tonight at GMA-7. StarStruck’s host, Dingdong Dantes, narrated this season’s twists and challenges. It also featured the StarStruck Survivors who made big names in the Philippines’ showbiz industry such as Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado, Aljur Abrenica and Kris Bernal. StarStruck Avengers, though they didn’t win, also made it to showbiz like Sheena Halili, Paulo Avelino, Mart Escudero, Katrina Halili, Rich Asuncion, Lj Reyes, Yasmine Kurdi, Dion Ignacio, Rainier Castillo, Arci Muñoz, Charisse Solomon and Iwa Moto were featured as well.

StarStruck V also paid tribute to the departed who became part of the reality show: Khryss Adalia and Douglas Quijano who became StarStruck Councils, and to Marky Cielo, StarStruck 3 Ultimate Survivor. I got teary-eyed when they showed video clips of Marky Cielo. His untimely death is unforgettable.

Other hosts of StarStruck V will be Raymond Gutierrez and Carla Abellana.

UPDATE:

Since Family Feud’s host Richard Gomez will run for 2010 politics, he will be temporarily replaced by Dingdong Dantes. Thus, leaving StarStruck V hosting to Raymond Gutierrez, Carla Abellana,  and surprise – Dennis Trillo.
