David Cook’s songs are topping the i-Tunes after he won the American Idol Season 7. His finale song on the final night “Time of My Life” is leading, following his renditions of “Dream Big” and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’ve Been Looking For”.

He is currently recording his own album, while he is already compared with Chris Daughtry. He said, Daughtry’s success is amazing but he wants to be known for his own talent and he is not expecting a mega-hit on his album. He is already proud to have an album of his own.

David Cook garnered 56% of votes declaring him as the winner of American Idol Season 7! Here’s a video tribute for David Cook:

Cook’s fans didn’t let the judges declare Archuleta as the winner as he got only 44% of the votes. The American Idol top 12 performed “Get Ready“. After which, the two Davids sang a duet of “Hero“, promoting the new movie of Mike Myers: The Love Guru. While Syesha Mercado and Seal sang “Waiting For You“.Jason Castro sang “Hallelujah” and the American Idol finalists performed “Let the Good Times Roll” for the Ford music video. (more…)

Who will win on David vs. David night? The Judges apparently go for David Archuleta as he sung ”Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” by Elton John; ”In This Moment,” by Ryan Gillmor; and ”Imagine,” by John Lennon. Simon said David A is the winner for the night. All little David needs now is more votes from his strong number of fans to be declared as the winner of American Idol Season 7.

However, David Cook has a growing fan base also. I want him to win actually. Admit it, David A is great but not versatile, I really find him boring.  Although, the songs of David C is not that quite appealing to me: ”I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” by U2;
Dream Big” by Emily Shackelton ; and ‘‘The World I Know” by Collective Soul. Still, he showed his versatility by shifting from rock to mellow.

So who will you think will win? That’s what we have to find out on Wednesday night.

As expected, it is a David vs. David battle on American Idol Season 7. Syesha Mercado was voted off from the Top 3. Although Syesha can belt out higher tones, it is apparent that the two guys has more fans. Little girls definitely vote for their cutie pie David Archuleta while teens swoon over David Cook.

I’m rooting now for Cook because I find David Archuleta’s performances boring each week. And I think Archuleta’s Dad is pulling down his career rather than letting him come out of his shell.

David Cook sung Dare You to Move by Switchfoot on American Idol. It is one of the soundtracks of the movie A Walk to Remember. Here’s the video and lyrics:

Welcome to the planet
Welcome to existence
Everyone’s here
Everyone’s here
Everybody’s watching you now
Everybody waits for you now
What happens next?
What happens next?

David Cook sung Roberta Flack’s The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. All the judges approved his arrangement on this song that Simon Cowell even considered it as his best performance ever. I still think Always Be My Baby is his best performance though. But I heard some negative issues regarding Cook. Some says he is just FAKE. He only acts charming and too good to be true on stage but in reality, he is otherwise. And he also claimed that he does all his song arrangements but that is just not true also. Can these be just distractions from other fans of the other top three? Anyway, here’s his performance on American Idol Top 3 night:

Lyrics of: First Time Ever I Saw Your Face

The first time ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave
To the dark and the empty skies, my love,
To the dark and the empty skies.

I heard that David Cook will sing Roberta Flock’s The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face tonight on American Idol. Like Mariah’s Always Be My Baby, David will add twist to this mellow song by making it into alternative, as his trademark.

Is he going to rock the audience tonight? I believe his performance on Mariah’s night is his best performance ever. I hope he will surpass that.

David Cook’s rendition of Mariah’s song Always Be My Baby hit the airwaves fast and it is the most favorite and requested song. I really like how he delivered it, I even downloaded it to my Ipod. :)

Definitely, Cook will be on American Idol top 3. He is not much of an attraction at first as I only see him as another rocker-wannabe. But after singing Always Be My Baby, he became the hunk of American Idol season 7. I think, it would be David A versus David C on the final bout. ;)

I totally agree with Randy Jackson’s comment, David Cook should have chosen a really rock and roll song instead of Duran Duran’s “Hungry like the Wolf”. He has a vocal like a rock star, which reminds me of Chris Daughtry. It was ok though but not quite appealing to me.

Hungry like the Wolf lyrics:

(ha ha)

Dark in the city, night is a wire
Steam in the subway, earth is a fire
Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do
Woman you want me, give me a sign
And catch my breathing even closer behind
Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do

It is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s night on American Idol. Here’s the Music of the Night lyrics to be sung by David Cook:

Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses

Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendour
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender
Turn your face away from the garish light of day
Turn your thoughts away from cold, unfeeling light
And listen to the music of the night
