However, you need to choose 7 finalists before you may cast your vote and you must confirm your vote through the link that will be sent to your valid email. Don’t worry, it will just take a minute or two for your vote to be included. You can also vote by texting PPUR to 2816. Cash prizes are at stake through text votes. Philippines’ Miss Universe Shamcey Supsup made it to Top 5 of Miss Universe 2011. Shamcey Supsup was crowned 3rd runner up at the Miss Universe 2011 held at Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Having heard Ms. Supsup’s answer, she deserves the Miss Universe crown. Not that I’m being patriotic, but even Oprah Winfrey has this to say over NBC News:

“I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having? breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point.”

Needless to say, the Filipinos are very proud of Shamcey Supsup. Personally, I admire her for she’s the epitome of what a Miss Universe should be – a woman of grace, intelligence and beauty. For me, Miss Universe 2011 is Shamcey Supsup.

Football in the Philippines is not widely recognized until Azkals or The Philippine National Men’s Football Team made it to the news. The Azkals put the Philippines’ name in the international football scene when they defeated Vietnam to reach the semi-finals in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup.

Though they lost against Indonesia, the Azkals are determined to make football popularize in the Philippines such as how we greatly patronize basketball and boxing. Popular members of the Azkals are siblings James and Phil Younghusband, and Neil Etheridge. Phil Younghusband already appeared in National Television via Celebrity Duets Season I as one of the celebrity contestants.

What is Bekimon? Watch this video uploaded by the inventor of this word.

So, Bekimon means Baklang Jejemon or gays using Gay lingo. I find this funny, though others may think it is annoying. In a sense, it isn’t good in our society, especially for kids or students who may adapt to these kind of words. But for fun sake, I posted it anyway. Just enjoy watching! :)

‘Burloloy’ (Borloloy)- Tagalog slang for brick-a-brac, stuff, decorative items,
ornaments, jewelry (W3 dictionary). From this word came the now famous bikes roaming around Metro Manila, most probably in Marikina, accessorized with mostly 60′s and 70′s items.

Borloloy bikes were made and popularized by Toym Imao, an artist, sculptor and one of the Most Outstanding Kapampangans. He is the eldest son of National Artist, Abdul Mari Imao Sr. As he puts it in his Facebook account, he created the borloloy bikes to promote bike culture, thus to travel green as he acts his love for the environment.

Last June 4, he was featured in GMA 7′s 24 Oras as they featured the Borloloy bikes while on June 24, four of his borloloy bikes were featured in Unang Hirit. By the way, he also designed the B-Jeep used by Vice President Binay during his inauguration.
