Typhoon Ondoy hits Philippines last Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009. It is the worst storm that hit our country for the last 42 years. Death toll reaches 100. Many were stranded from their homes, cars and offices. Even showbiz personalities were not spared such as Cristine Reyes, Jean Garcia, Lindsay Custodio and Gladys Reyes.

Here’s a video of a woman (later known as a doctor), escaping from drowning inside her car:

On August 1, 2009, a woman who became a great leader of our country had a peaceful death. Corazon “Cory” Cojuangco Aquino, the first woman President in the Philippines and Asia, battled colon cancer for more than a year. Prayers and novenas were offered to lengthen her life. Yellow ribbons were tied everywhere, as a symbol of the Filipinos in union with her battle, thus the slogan “Di ka nag-iisa, Cory”.

However, as the Filipinos were praying for her battle, the Lord wanted to have her already by His side. As a Filipino, I thank God for sending former President Cory Aquino to us, for courageously obliging the call of Filipinos for freedom and change during the dictatorship days.

An email spread like wildfire about an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.1 that will hit the Philippines on July 18, 2008. My officemates are terrified upon knowing it that some of them will not go to work on that day. How was this predicted?

A Brazilian teacher named Juseleeno Nobulega Daroose predicted this event along with his other predictions including the death of Princess Diana, the 911 World Trade Center in New York, the Tsunami in Indonesia and recently, the China earthquake.

But, we should not panic as some news stated that Daroose only claim these predictions as his own. And according to Philvolcs, there is no scientific explanation behind this as no one can tell the exact magnitude and date of an earthquake. Let’s just pray that it will not really happen.
